 Early Years and Childcare

Find more information about what Early Years (birth-5 years) and childcare settings, and the Local Authority, must do to support young children with additional and/or Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND).

All Early Years and childcare settings must make provision for children with additional and/or Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. Children with additional needs have the greatest need for high quality provision and are entitled to support from adults who enable them to achieve and enjoy their time in Early Years.

We want to equip parents, carers and families with an understanding of what they can expect from their Early Years and Childcare Setting, and from their Local Authority.

We have created the following sub-sections to help you navigate through this Early Years and childcare section to find the information, support and advice you need.
